Conlin Incentive Group is building a team of independent sales contractors to serve as Regional Sales Managers to acquire new clients for its meetings management, group incentive travel, sales promotions and loyalty programs business.  Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Manager actively solicits, tracks and closes new business opportunities on behalf of the Company.

As an independent contractor, outside sales position, the RSM is expected to pull from their strategic and hands-on sales experience to develop and implement a sales plan, resulting in an increased sales footprint in the region, The ideal candidate is someone who has experience closing deals and exceeding sales goals, is self-motivated and has a passion for people, client-service and travel. This position can be full or part-time and is commission-based with potential earnings of $50,000-$100,000 or more per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for researching and qualifying prospects, developing and executing sales initiatives to establish prospect interest and action to seek out RFP’s.
  • Responsible for direct contact with prospects and clients, and should maintain the relationship on a frequent basis.
  • Responsible for updating the National Sales Manager on sales activities, and to collaborate on strategies to acquire new business.
  • While working mostly independently, the RSM is expected to collaborate with home office team members who support marketing, proposals, contracts, reservations/registrations, on-site operations, and accounting.

Day-to-day Activities:

  • Work with the National Sales Manager, as the home office single point of contact, to develop sales strategies and priorities for prospects, for the production of proposals in response to RFP’s, and once selected, for the production of Letters of Agreement and client invoices.
  • Provide ongoing reporting of results, implications and recommended action steps.
  • On occasion, travel with clients to resort destinations for site visits to “walk through” their program agenda, and then again with the group for their actual program.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Having traveled throughout the USA, Mexico, Caribbean, Europe, and Asia would be helpful.
  • Previous business-to-business sales experience.
  • Client-focused with a strong sense of detail and urgency; Can listen and analyze prospect needs and respond accordingly.
  • Proven ability to communicate, both verbally and written, with people at all levels of an organization
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and also collaboratively in a team environment.

Fine Print:

This position is not for most.  As an independent contractor, paid on commission, it can take months to build up a successful sales funnel, and then longer before group travel programs, and payments, to occur.   Individual incentive travel awards, premium incentive merchandise promotions and loyalty programs have a shorter selling cycle and can provide more near term commission income.  As with many commissioned based jobs, generating income in the first year can be a challenge.  Once established, this position can be both fulfilling and fruitful. Please visit our website at: www.conlinincentivegroup.com for more information about what we do.
